About the Organization and Opportunity

Organization: Brown University Health Workforce Development provides the opportunities, inspiration, and education to help you find your career in healthcare. Workforce Development at Brown University Health offers practical work experience, mentorship under professional career experts, training, and education strategies. Brown Health’s Workforce Development program was created for underemployed and unemployed adults (18+) looking to become trained and certified for today’s most in-demand entry-level healthcare positions that can lead to meaningful employment and career success. They also offer a Summer Youth Employment (SYE) program for Rhode Islanders ages 16 to 19. This is an eight-week, full-time paid employment opportunity that can lead to a meaningful career path in healthcare, with experience for lifetime success.

Opportunity: Join Brown University Health Workforce Development for a virtual information session created specifically for high school seniors who are interested in healthcare career paths outside of college. This meeting will provide an overview of free training programs, including Sterile Processing Technician, Computed Tomography Technologist, Pharmacy Technician, and more. Participants will learn about the programs, some of which lead to state licensure or nationally recognized certifications. Students will also discover how these programs create a direct healthcare career track that requires no college degree, offering a strong starting point for long-term growth in the medical field. This session is ideal for students looking for a clear, supported healthcare pathway into the workforce after high school.

Session 1 Date: Monday, March 23, 2026

Start time: 4:00pm

End time: 5:00pm

Session 2 Date: Monday, April 27, 2026

Start time: 4:00pm

End time: 5:00pm

Both sessions will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams.
