About the Organization and Opportunity
Organization: The mission of the Audubon Society of Rhode Island is to protect birds, other wildlife and their habitats through conservation, education and advocacy, for the benefit of people and all other life.
Audubon works throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts to provide high quality environmental education to schools, libraries and community organizations. In addition, Audubon's public programs serve people of all ages, providing opportunities to learn more about the natural world around them. The Nature Center & Aquarium, located in Bristol, RI, is open to the public and include exhibits on the local wildlife and habitats. Audubon's fourteen wildlife refuges have trails that are open free to the public for hiking, birding, photography and relaxation.
Opportunity: Through educational programs geared towards people of all ages, Audubon Society of Rhode Island strives to develop an environmentally literate and motivated community that supports and promotes sustainable living and stewardship of our natural resources.
Audubon educates youth through school programs and summer camps while providing environmental literacy training for educators throughout the state. These programs are continuously updated to align with state and national curriculum requirements.
Our nature tours and other public programs provide a variety of fun, engaging ways for adults and families to learn about and foster respect for birds, wildlife, and nature.
