About the Organization and Opportunity
Organization: OHPRI provides innovative and empowering education programs at sea and ashore to promote personal growth and professional development, while raising awareness of opportunities in the maritime industry, marine trades, and defense sector for the communities of Rhode Island and Southern New England.
Opportunity:
Volunteers are at the heart of Oliver Hazard Perry's mission and an integral part of our ship’s community. By volunteering, you contribute towards the success of our on-board programs and enable us to expand our outreach within Rhode Island, New England, and beyond. Volunteers at Oliver Hazard Perry perform a wide variety of tasks, and every volunteer day is new and different. You may be asked to lead a tour below decks, talk about the ship’s history to a group of schoolchildren, varnish railings, help the engineer in the engine room, participate in a woodworking project, or help with rigging and sails. No matter your background, we are excited to welcome you to become a part of our volunteer corps.
