About the Organization and Opportunity
Organization: Sponsors of the Future (SoF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in EG, Rhode Island, is dedicated to facilitating strong connections between local communities and businesses to create a more significant impact in neurodivergent communities. SoF creates community programs for all with the mission to connect the different stakeholders to form ecosystems that support the neurodivergent community and others, through education, advocacy, and inclusion.
“This is going to be the avenue that opens up the path for our kids.”Sponsors of the Future (SoF) bridges the gap between separate entities that are meant to work together. We develop ecosystems that facilitate strong connections and partnerships between businesses and the target communities they serve, which include individuals with challenges and their caregivers, educators, doctors, parents, local stakeholders, and more. We create programming for people from all backgrounds who face different challenges through these ecosystems that empower them to live meaningful and independent lives by cultivating important life and social skills. As everyone and their needs are different, this is done through consultation with their family to shape a unique curriculum for their gifts and challenges. At SoF, we work to empower all, including those with unique challenges, to achieve their full potential.
Opportunity: Empowering Youth Of All Abilities: SoF's Career and Entrepreneurship Camp
Sponsors of the Future (SoF) empowers youth of varying abilities by providing hands-on learning opportunities and the tools and resources needed to jumpstart their transition to high school and development into adulthood -- hosted at the Academy Science Center alongside the Varnum House Museum yard and Carriage House, located in historic East Greenwich, RI.
Building upon the success of the 2023 Life Skills Boot Camp and 2024 Career & Skills Camp, this year's camp will continue to equip participants with essential career and entrepreneurial skills through interactive workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
The camp is open to all youth ages 11-17, with a focus on including the neurodiverse community.
